2014 silverado temp gauge not working fans on high.

My 2014 Silverado had no reading on temp gauge, fan running high and continuing to run after turned off. Took it to car wash/oil change place, told them the problem. Guy said he had that before. He took off one battery cable, waited 5 minutes (to give it plenty of time to re-set) and re-attached. Problem solved...at least for now. Noticed the gauge went dead, then cooling fans kicked in. Turned truck off fans continued for about 3-5 min. Replaced sensor with chevy part, it worked fine for about 2 weeks, not back again. Also noticed AC stopped cooling at the same time. No low coolant, no running hot. Gauge went dead or appears to not be registering again this AM.One of those may be broken and contacting body somewhere and allowing the fans to be stuck on. If you're wiggling harnesses/wires and other electrical functions are "working" or "not working" there must be some underlying issues. Based on the information provided since the engine temperature gauge is reading low or stuck at 160 and since the engine cooling fans are on all of the time this can indicate a fault with the engine coolant temperature sensor wiring being shorted out or damaged or an issue with the engine computer itself internally to where it has to be replaced. Once you connect the fan to battery power, your fan should start running. If the fan doesn't work with direct battery power, examine the terminal that plugs to the radiator fan connector.
