A pair of designer glasses with my high index lens are usually $250-280. The same pair would go for $500-600 outside. A normal "cheaper" frame would be around $150 or less if your eyesight is not nearly as bad as mine (5.75-6.00 in one of my eyes). The same pair would be at least $300 outside of Costco.

I have never used Walmart, but I just got 3 pairs of prescription glasses from Costco (distance, computer, sunglasses). I am very pleased with Costco. I had tried the online route several times, but I always chose ill-fitting glasses. I much prefer the in-person route. With VSP, my glasses were $220. Seams reasonable enough for 3 pairs.
