They are rated for the 45 colt but not the Ruger only loads. Max load for a 225 grain jacketed bullet is only 7.5 grain. As said before 7.3 for 230 lead.The 2.5" 410 is harder to find than 3" magnums, so if you can find a Magnum JUDGE it would be the best choice. But the 2.5" 410 will still cover more of the cylinder than a 45 colt, so the extra space is not really an issue. The real reason, is the plastic shot cups of modern 410's actually covers the rifling when you fire the 410's thru THE JUDGE. The Raging Judge Magnum has a 3" chamber. The regular RJM comes in stainless and blued and can be purchased in 3" or 6.5" barrel lengths. It will accept 45LC, 454 Casull, and 410 (2.5" & 3"). The cylinder will hold 6 rounds. Mine is blued, has a 6.5" barrel, 3" chamber, and accepts 454 Casull.

I have the judge poly and just broke my front sight. I looked on Amazon and found a fiber optic replacement kit for about 15 bucks. I haven't bought it yet but eventually will. You might check there for repair kits. Good luck!

The reason for going to the judge was better ammo than handloaded shotshells in 357, 44 and .45's. The 410's are around $10.00 a box of 25 AA's.

Thanks MissKitty! I actually ordered a TRUGLO set of 5 / 5.5" rods at .078" (a hair less than 2mm) diameter. For my Taurus 605, when I looked at the rod diameter across a metric ruler, it came real close to 2mm.
